Thanks to everybody for turning up & participating. I think the first round games went well. The second round game probably had too many figures for parliament to deploy & use in the time we had. First round results went convincingly to parliament 8 -4. Second round to the royalists who held two and contested three objectives thus winning 5-0.
Reports from the field of battle tell of one royalist stalwart who stood head & shoulders above all others. Of course we refer to the newly enobled Sir Breville Towcester, Earl of Sandwich. In the first action despite reports that Sir Breville & a wagoner survived only Sir Breville could be found to report on the action. He tells of personally escorting from the field the Kings supply of fine wines, cheeses & table linen, only abandoning to parliament the unimportant supplies of oates for livestock and flour for the soldiers bread.
Elsewhere a terrible slaughter of commoners & nobility occured at the hands of scottish brigands who were clearly only invading His Majesties lands to loot & pillage.
However in other parts the Kings engineers did demolish a bridge considerably delaying the scot's advance. Reports that the French mercenary officer, Chevalier Armand Hammer was responsible for this success were disputed by the common soldiery present.
On to the main battle at the the villages of Upper & Lower Peeover. Sir Breville first led a successful
attack to secure the Bridge at Lower Peeover personally leading His Majesties forces against the elite of the parliament army before returning to steady the line on hills at Upper Peeover, stopping the perfidious enemy forces from driving a wedge between King Charles & Prince Rupert. As night fell he was seen offering to command the rear guard allowing His Majesty safe passage from the field.
In recognition of his services, both past & present, in the name of His Majesty, King Charles, Sir Breville is now enobled as Earl of Sandwich.

thoroughly enjoyed the day Peter.Big thanks for what was obviously a massive effort on your part over the past months. If next year is half as good it will be a cracker.

The royalist may have won the day but the clan Mc Nesbit taught a lesson to those who would dare come north of the border with their popish behaviour.

For those in the game who have never heard of Rab C Nesbit -

Was there any doubt that with brave Sir Breville on the field that victory for his majesty was assured??? Even with Scott commanding some cavalry
